Pianist Jon Pickard for hire

“All music is folk music, Ain’t never heard no horse sing a song!”

— Louis Armstrong

Jon Pickard - Pianist
Jon Pickard has been playing piano since before his feet could reach the floor :)  He first learned from his mother who was a Classical Pianist and quickly progressed through the grades as a child.  At age 16 he began to play cocktail piano in local hotels and restaurants while still at school - and has never looked back.

He has worked as a session keyboard / piano player for countless bands and studios and recently studied Jazz Piano at Bath Spa University.  These days Jon plays piano (and guitar) for all kinds of events and special occasions - weddings, parties, corporate events - you name it!  Click here to contact Jon now for a free, no obligation quote.

The Piano offers a beautiful and unique backdrop sound for any kind of event and is suitable for all types of music.  On piano Jon plays mostly Jazz standards, and you can hire him to play piano (and / or guitar) at your wedding or any other event.

Are you looking for a Wedding Pianist to play jazz piano for your wedding, party or restaurant in Bristol, Bath, or across the South of the UK?

Jon plays Piano for weddings, parties, corporate events, hotels and restaurants, even in hospitals.  He started doing this over 20 years ago as a teenager in hotel restaurants.  On Piano he plays mostly light Jazz standards, cocktail music and love songs.

Timeless classics to create a very stylish atmosphere. If you love early Jazz and songs by masters such as Duke Ellington, Irving Berlin, Nat King Cole and G&I Gershwin to name a few then Jon can play you many romantic favourites to recapture this genre of music.

He also plays some more modern songs (see playlist below) and am happy to learn pieces on request.  Please mention this at the time of booking as this sometimes incurs an extra, depending on the song.

For an unforgettable evening of live piano playing timeless Jazz classics please get in touch for a chat and a free quote.  If your event needs music for a long time period then why not have Jon play both piano and guitar at different times?

This adds a real change of mood and keep the party fresher than just having the same instrument for the whole time.

What Piano?

If there is no piano at your venue Jon can bring his own Roland digital piano (pictured right) which is compact, smart looking and one of the best sounding available.

This can be amplified if required through various amplification systems, depending on the size of your event. All of Jon's equipment is PAT tested and insured to meet legal requirements.

Alternatively you could hire in a Grand Piano especially for your event.  Jon has experience of dealing with hire companies and would be happy to arrange this on your behalf.  This does incur hiring fees.
